Naked ADSL campaign by Mweb
2011-11-25
Mweb, a South African Web service supplier, launched a campaign for exposed ADSL today using their Free the Web initiative. "Naked ADSL" is a phrase used to explain the facility to pay for the line rental of ADSL separately to the standard analog telephone line. This separation isn't available in SA as Telkom needs patrons to hire a telephone line from them if they desire ADSL services. "Although our voice lines do now subsidise a little of our ADSL line costs, patrons should still see a decrease in costs if it was unnecessary to have a landline," Mweb expounded in the press statement asserting the launching of the campaign. Mweb has launched the campaign on Facebook and Twitter, and also have a YouTube video punting exposed ADSL. The ISP related that people having an interest in supporting the cause can visit the Facebook page and show their support thru an "Appeal Mosaic.".
